For years there has been a concern about the separation of Science from Arts and Humanities.  Scientists and Engineers can't write, or so its said.  At Manchester we have addressed this with a Poetry competition; and guess what; they can write and they want to.

Science-Poetry Competition calls for poems written by any student in the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Manchester. Since 2012, 849 poems entered the competition, of which 143 poems can be listened to. Each year, the winner and runners up are decided by renowned poets Wendy Cope and Lachlan Mackinnon from a shortlist of accepted poems. Please follow us on Facebook for more updates. We hope students enjoy writing and recording poems as much as we have enjoyed reading and listening to them.
