Poems After Frida

Poems After Frida: A Celebration of the work of Frida Kahlowith acclaimed poet Pascale Petit and music from sound artist Michael Hann. The event takes place in Darlington's award winning Mexican restaurant and bar, Voodoo Cafe. Come and celebrate Frida Kahlo's birthday, with magical words and images, amazing sounds and a perfect Margarita. The event will take place on July 6th. All those who contribute will receive a fanzine with unique poetry and art work. Funds we hope to raise will be used for set up costs, to pay poet and musician, and for publicity. The closure of Darlington Arts Centre, and cuts in arts funding locally. has resulted in a lack of live arts in the town. This evening will not only celebrate both the poetry of Pascale Petit and the art of Frida Kahlo, but will also give the audience the opportunity to experience a quality event and we hope motivate and inspire future happenings in the town. Please give generously. We look forward to seeing you at what will be an unforgettable evening.
