Please save this little sweet girl's life !
I met 6 year old Manizha in Afghanistan when I was volunteering, helping women who had been subjected to domestic violence.
When I came back to the UK, I couldn’t get her out of my mind.
Manizha has Down’s Syndrome and also has a physical disability which means she can’t walk. The first time I saw her, she was locked up in a dark room, her legs in chains. She can’t go outside because she is constantly abused and ridiculed by other children.
Awareness of disability in Afghanistan is very basic, because of a lack of education, and many disabled children are excluded from society, and are seen as shameful.
Manizha lives with her mother and young siblings, but her father has just been executed by the Taliban. Things are even harder now for her family.
I can not get this sweet, trusting girl out of my head and so I want to do some really specific fund-raising. I am going to:
Transform Manizha’s room into a bright, colourful space full of toys for her to play with.
Buy Manizha a wheelchair.
Get Manizha a specialist doctor.
Every single pound that you can donate will help this girl, and I will personally oversee that her life is transformed. I promise to update you all of my progress, and show you all photos of what your money has achieved.
Many thanks to all.
