Last year, whilst on holiday in India we became involved with a charity that aims to help the stray dogs that live on the streets and beaches. The charity focuses on animal birth control, runs anti-rabies vaccination camps, rescues sick and injured dogs and re-homes abandonned puppies.
Street Dog Watch Association was founded by a British couple who, like us, came to India on holiday 8 years ago, but never returned to the UK! Instead, they stayed in India and dedicated their lives to the dogs.
We help the charity in lots of different ways. When we are in India, we feed and care for as many beach dogs as we can, including Rhubarb, Crumble and Custard. We support the charity by sponsoring Little Goat who lives at the clinic, by helping at the fund-raising parties and volunteering on the anti-rabies vaccination drives. We are the eyes and the ears of the charity, reporting any dogs on the beach that need to be sterilised or those that require medical care.
This year, we wanted to show our support by helping the charity to raise money to buy much needed cages and custom made puppy pen's. The pen's that the clinic currently have are very old and falling apart and the charity needs more cages so that sick puppies can be properly isolated to stop diseases spreading.
We are sharing our crowd funding page with you, our family and friends, in the hope that each of you will donate a small amount of money to help us to help Street Dog Watch Association. Please also share our page with your own family and friends and encourage them to also support this worthy cause.
With thanks, Jude and Peter x
