Hi Everyone :-)
I'm originally a mental health nurse (still practising 2 days a week during this transition!) and I've been thrust in to an excellent/terrifying position.
I initially agreed with a personal trainer friend to retrain as a Personal Trainer and join her business working alongside her and leaving my nursing job in a phased stage. My rationale behind this was that I have always believed exercise and mental health to go hand in hand as it has certainly been the case for myself. I was tired and burnt out in my present job, needed a change and felt there was something new I could offer to others before perhaps returning t nursing at a later date.
PLOT TWIST: I hand my notice in, the time comes and my new personal trainer boss informs me that SHE has been offered a new very exciting job and will be leaving and dissolving the business on the 9th December 2016 - Unless I'd like to rebrand and run it? Excellent. Cracking. Love to. You'd be daft to say no to being given a successful business for free. Steep learning curve to say the least....
So here I am.
As my new business (as of 9th December), I would like to change the focus of the training to 1-1's with those who experience anxiety and depression. Those who find the very idea of the gym or strutting down the street for their midday run impossible without curling up under their duvet. And of course those who just need that boost with their confidence and for who a few 1-1 sessions may be all they need. Mental Health will always be my passion and I fully believe the research is there and that as time goes by and our ever stretched medical resources dwindle further people will turn increasingly to fitness and exercise for relief from their mental health troubles. Anyway - I digress...
Whilst I was very reluctant to follow the crowdfunding route I want my business idea to be taken seriously and I fully understand that part of this is to "look the part" and something tells me my 02 plate leaky scratched, beaten(albeit very trustworthy) clio is no longer the appropriate vehicle to market myself in. Most people save for their business months/years in advance but unfortunately that was not an option for me. I'm trying to make the best of what I'm seeing as an incredible oportunity :-)
Please help me reach my target to be able to afford a new car and market myself as a new professional and credible PT.
Many thanks in advance.
EDIT: ON THE FIRST PAGE IT SAYS MY LOCATION IS TRURO CORNWALL THIS IS NOT CORRECT AND I CAN'T EDIT IT! I AM IN LISKEARD - CORNWALL
