We will get there together...
My project is called People Forever and the main goal is to capture special moments from everyday lives of people living in Vietnam and be able to share it with all of you. The plan is to photograph Vietnam culture. An important part of it is people so street photography will be the major part of capturing Vietnam culture since so much of it happen there. As part of the project planning process I have been in Vietnam for 3 months to identify the important pillars of Vietnam culture; things that I need to show in order to realistically represent life in Vietnam.
In order to achieve this goal at the beginning of May 2016, I will begin a 90 days solo motorbike trip from the South to North of Vietnam and stop along the way to photography people's everyday life. I plan to stay in each town or village for some days in order to get to know the culture and have the opportunity to get the best shoots. I will take an even amount of photos that allows me to capture the emotion and imagery. All photos will be taken on a Go-Pro HERO4 Black and a Phantom 3 Professional. Also, a Go-Pro HERO4 Session will be attached to the motorbike in order to record my journey on the road.
What fascinates me photographically is that a simple “cheese” spreads a smile across anyone’s face. This is what my project is about: capture a smile that happens in a flash, but make the memory last forever. This project it is a big opportunity for me to progress as a photographer and let others engage with my work. Also, it will give me the inspiration to move and try another project. I have realised that my other passion, next to documenting culture, is inspiring others to follow their dreams because by doing this people will be much happier. So, I hope that through this project I can inspires others passionate about photography to follow their dreams.
In order to make this project becomes real I need to buy a second-hand motorbike that I will purchase in Vũng Tàu (southern Vietnam) and after the project is completed I will sell it and donate the total amount to a local charity. I have set up an Instagram J22VISION and I also have a website www.j22vision.com with a blog where you will be able to follow me on this journey.
