Passionate About Pedals (bicycle recycling) forms part of Ayudante Community Interest Company (CIC)which is a small manufacturing company based in a deprived and low income area of Stoke on Trent. Passionate About Pedals, our bicycle recycling section, offers a service of recycling old and unwanted bicycles. We have a contract with the local authority to collect bicycles otherwise destined for landfill and recycle them for sale (nominal fee) back to the public. We aim to help people from all walks of life to experience cycling as a means of empowerment and inclusivity. Our services include: buying a bike, servicing and repairs, maintenance, Dr Bike Programmes and cycling for leisure (encouraging people in the community that are isolated and lonely). As a Community Interest Company, we care about the enivronment, we care about the items sent to landfill, we care about waste and we care about people in our local community. We also believe in sustainable transport and encourage a more healthy lifestyle. Our bicycles are currently stored in our manufacturing warehouse which makes it difficult to showcase our stock and sell to the public. As such we are looking for donations to enable us to either refurbish the front of our warehouse or alternatively seek a small retail unit nearby to enable us to trade more effectively and efficiently.
