As an independent collective, we established OYOI to help showcase local talent from the cities more niche scenes, including music and art, alongside writing original, locally relative articles about the people we meet, and the things we see around the city.
We recently took this passion to the streets of Heaton, sourcing places to paint murals from 100% local painters and artists. Shortly into this campaign, the reception from the community was astrounding, with many people reaching out to thank us for our work, and offering us places to paint.
This also caugh the attention of BBC radio Newcastle, and they produced a short video of our work.
However, we are now in a position of not being able to meet our full potential due to lack of funding, leading to ask those generous members of the local community if they could donate to our cause.
All donations will go towards ensuring creativity lives on in Heaton and Newcastle, more so than ever before, through not just our blog, but our work on the walls of Heaton. With the comminutes help, we feel like we could really accomplish something amazing and change the faces of Heaton and Newcastle for the better.
We have set the target to £200 because we had to put something in that feild, however all further donations are greatly appreciated.
