Following the completion of my debut album, A Shake Of The Hand, and a subsequent mail shot to a number of promoters and bookers via Danielle White of Raestar Promotions, I have been offered 8 gigs across the UK starting in July this year. This tour is subject to successful funding from the Arts Council.
One of the prerequisites for getting funding is that I have to secure funds elsewhere too, which is why I am approaching all of you to help make this happen, in addition to contributing what I can from my personal savings. I hope you are inspired enough by this project to want to help make it happen :-)
My self-funded album features intricate backing vocals, double bass, percussion, sitar, acoustic guitars and more. My aim is to re-create the essence of this album on the live stage and play songs dedicated to life in all its beauty and vibrancy. I will be condensing what appears on the album into a fine 5-piece band consisting of acoustic guitars, bass, drums and percussion, Arabian oud, Indian classical violin and backing vocals.
Songs from the album are being played on Jazz FM and Delite Radio and the album received a great review from Clive Davis in the Sunday Times on 12th March. More airplay on the way! :-)
Gigs on the tour include: Wigan Jazz Festival (9th July), Westival, Aldershot (22nd July, 5pm), The Master Mariner, Brighton (22nd July, 9pm), Riverhouse Arts Centre, Walton On Thames (30th July) , Fleece Jazz, Suffolk (4 August).
We are so excited to have been offered these gigs and hope that you can help make it happen!! :-)
