Musician in need of new instrument for postgrad

Penelope's Piggy Bank has a crowdfund target of £4, 000 by the end of term 1 (Dec) - any donations really gratefully received! Thank you.

It has always been my dream to study at music college, and I am so happy to have been awarded a place at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. However, I really need a new instrument for the demands of advanced performance on a two-year postgraduate programme.

My oboe is over 40 years old, and  its worn-out bore affects stability of intonation and resonance of sound. Regular maintenance & repair is also a source of stress when rehearsal and performance shedules are busy - as well as being expensive.

A new and reliable instrument is really important for this period of intensive study to facilitate the development of my technique, performance and ensemble skills.

Outgoings associated with living in London, studying and oboe running costs mean that I will have to rely on the generosity of donors and sponsors as a means to help me achieve my target.

All contributions will be greatly appreciated: a decent oboe will not only enable me to make the most of my postgrad experience but it also will last me a lifetime in the profession.
