Oakmeadians RFC, has been running for over 50 years and in its time has moved around the Bournemouth area until we settled at our home in Meyrick Park in 1990. We are run completely by volunteers from the team coaches and managers to the ladies in the kitchen and the volunteers behind the bar.
The clubhouse is situated in the very centre of Bournemouth, with one of the most beautiful locations in the county.
Initially a small, one team, club we have grown into a thriving multi team club with three Senior Men's teams, a very successful Senior Ladies team and a very large Mini & Youth section for both boys and girls. Although we have one of the biggest clubs in the county we are proud to say that the volunteers are the backbone of our club, giving their time for the family of rugby.
We have been lucky to be supported by our community for many years and proud to have been winners of the NatWest Rugby Force 'Pride of the South West' two years in a row.
We have a great clubhouse which was recently refurbished but everyone knows that the toilet facilities can let us down.
It is sad to say that often the last thing we think about are the club toilets.
We desperately need to upgrade the existing facilities to meet the needs of the growing number of members especially the increased number of Ladies and Girls who have joined the club in recent years.
We need to replace the sanitaryware, rebuild the stalls and decorate throughout and hopefully pamper the ladies.
Please help us to improve our rugby home for the benefit of our members and more importantly our guests so that they remember us and not our sadly lacking loos.
So dig deep and support your community rugby club and if you are not a member then come and down and meet us, we will guarantee you a friendly welcome.
Join us in the summer at the NatWest Rugby Force Day on Sunday 25th June. All welcome for this fun day when we all come together to spruce up the club, have a BBQ and watch some rugby on the big screen.
