About the project

Hello my name is Muzzy I’m a volunteer for autistic charity called no limits community project for autism and we are trying to raise funds for a 3 day sponsored relay walk from lyneal wharf in Shropshire to Llangollen in Wales. The relay is mainly for raising funds  so that we can maintain and sustain  our groups.  The walk covers almost 60 miles walking along the canal our members have suggested having groups of three we would like to push our members to try and show that there is little if anything people with autism cannot do. Our project has been inexistence since 2008 and in that time we have helped our members integrate themselves into society by teaching them skills and building their confidence up in areas such as personal hygiene cooking a basic meal house work day-to-day travelling and interacting in areas that they struggle in such as strange environments new experiences and trying to better themselves . Our members meet up once a month for specialised sessions designed to increase confidence and improve self esteem. We also strive to promote independence so that our members can access everything in the community that neuro-typicals take for granted. We provide individuals with guidance and support to their families and help with  coping strategies. Our members are 16 and over.  We have a very small dedicated  team  and volunteers who we are currently publishing a magazine and musical events in the Stourbridge area, West Midlands in the Black Country United Kingdom. Our project heavily relies on our own fund raising efforts which in the current economic climate becomes increasingly difficult to do.
