 New stretch target

All money pledged to this cause will be used to put young Ugandan girls in school and keep them there so any money received over the target amount will be used for the same purpose. The more education years we can provide the better!!! Thank you.

Hello everyone!

I have been lucky enough to get a place for the London Marathon again this year through my work and am excited to be able to try and raise funds for a couple of projects I have had the pleasure to be a part of/visiting during my time in Uganda.

This year I will be running the London Marathon on 26th April and then on 27th May I will be running another marathon distance of 26.2 Miles (42.19 kms) between each of the projects through the mountains of the Ugandan, Rwandan and Congo borders.

All funds raised will help keep young girls in education and combat the recent surge of HIV infections amongst girls in Uganda. For each year that a girl is able to stay in education, the risks of her contracting the HIV virus, being sexually abused, or both are significantly reduced. The cost of a year in primary education is just £40/$60!!!

The Ugandan AIDS commission states that there are 570 new cases of HIV diagnosed in girls between 15-24 EVERY WEEK.

Let’s tackle this together and let these young girls know that they are not on their own!

Details of the 2 projects:

The Muko School was recently saved from closure and has been built a new school by my good friend Vincent Kenny and the supporters of his charity, The Buyambi Love Aid Project. Vinny’s tireless dedication has helped hundreds of children across Uganda into education and The Muko School is the third school he has built to date. I have so much admiration for this man so am very happy to support the great work he does.

The Buyambi Love Aid Project’s website can be found here for more info on Vinny’s work www.buyambilove.webs.com

The Amazing Love School is based in the small town of Kabale in South West Uganda and has been very close to my heart since I spent some time there in 2013. Some of you may remember the little girl from there that I took for surgery in Tanzania https://prossysurgicalmission.wordpress.com

The project was founded by Saturday James, an orphan himself, who has set up the project to help his community to provide shelter, education and love to children who may otherwise have found themselves alone on the street to face the risks of HIV, hunger and abuse.
