At New Roots we believe in cultural enrichment and empowerment. A unified community where individuals grow and strive. We aim to encourage the young minds of our community that there is hope in achieving and working towards aspiring their dreams. Our existing programme works to teach children about key concepts and events from our history, by infusing Black History with the National Curriculum
Our Youth Support project will work to offer extra-curricular support to young people who are at risk or already are underachieving in school. Working closely with the users of our service we will offer a catch-up srvice that will help fill the gaps in the child's learning. Alongside this we will also offer an accelerated learning program for gifted and talented pupils, which will also include 11+ exam support.
We have succesfully run our Saturday School for the last year and would like to combine this with weekly sessions and our catch-up service and deliver this project for free to those in our community that need it the most.
