Nazan Fikret Soprano- Development Fund

An appeal to find funds to develop and up and coming young operatic soprano, Nazan Fikret; to prepare roles and pieces for major auditions.

 Hello Everyone!

My name is Nazan Fikret; I'm a professional opera singer based in London (born and bred), to Turkish and Irish parents. I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama- where I received First Class undergraduate and Masters degrees. Since graduating in 2013, I have been working professionally, building on my career as a young artist and adding to the work I did having started out at 13.

I have been very privileged to work with companies such as English National Opera, The Royal Opera, Welsh National Opera, Teatro Real and Aldeburgh Music in the last few years and have made the beginnings of a career in the operatic industry. However, I've now reached the stage where in order to get to the next level of my development, I need to invest lots of money and resources into my training. This is in order to learn new repertoire with leading industry professionals, to present in audition to the major opera companies in the UK and further afield. Lessons and coaching cost £60-80 per hour and I worked out that I need £3500 + to cover all of these sessions in the 15/16 year. No easy task when you're starting out in the music industry!!

I attach a link here www.nazanfikret.com so that you can get and idea of what I do and my background, to know how the money would be spent. Essentially, it's learning new material for audition, as well as for roles I have been cast in and polishing my technique with an excellent teacher.

I would use the money on a monthly basis to cover this tuition, ready to audition next Autumn, as well as prepare for concerts and roles along the way. Such as those obtained via Making Music and working with Welsh National Opera. Anything that you can give to help would help immensely and I will keep a blog to show how crowd funding monies are being spent.

Thank you for your time and consideration of my project and I will leave my recent engagement list below this.

Best Wishes,

Nazan
