Hello, my name is Emily and I am (nearly!) 16 years old.
At the beginning of this year, I auditioned to become a member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain- an organisation that helps young people find their confidence, meet new and like-minded people, and get a taste of the professional acting industry, as well as providing a pathway to a possible career in the industry. As a member, you are given the opportunity to audition for their high-end shows and plays, as well as take part in many more helpful and influential acting courses.
I was lucky enough to be offered a place!
I was thrilled; I was not expecting to be accepted due to the incredibly high standards and small amount of people they take on each year.
However, before becoming 'officially enrolled', you are required to attend a 2 week induction course in London. The course will no doubtedly be incredible and inspiring and well worth the fees. But the fees are very high due to the quality of the course (led by trained industry professionals). I will also require the offered accomodation as commuting is too far for me.
I would hate to have to pass up the amazing opportunity to be part of NYT due to the expense. My parents are scrimping as much as they can, and other friends and family are also dontaing, but their help will still not be enough to reach the £915 overall cost.
For years and years acting has been my passion and the prospect of being able to do it as a career is extremely exciting. I just need this helpful nudge to get me started!
Thank you so much for your generosity should you decide to donate. It means the world.
