DogKind will be a national event to promote ethical dog training which is being set-up to educate the general public on the potential dangers of aversive and unethical dog training methods.

It will include:

  • A two-day event where pet dog training as well every dog training specialisation, e.g. assistance dogs, gundogs, working dogs, agility, etc., will be represented, showcased, including multimedia presentations on how dogs are trained successfully using positive ethical methods in each category, as well as a chance for members of the public to talk to experienced trainers, book on mini workshops, and 'have a go' (exact format still evolving-please bear with us)
  • An official national Ethics in Dog Training month
  • An organised national campaign involving dog trainers and other canine professionals lobbying and delivering educational info packs on science-backed ethical training to their local veterinary clinics
  • A substantial marketing and promotional drive to promote the above, including targeting social media, national newspapers, as well as radio stations and television networks

This crowdfunding campaign has been set up to raise the initial funds needed to start organising the above event. Specifically to cover the cost of:

  • A DogKind: Ethics in Dog Training Event website
  • Printed info packages for veterinary clinics
  • Deposit for venue for DogKind event
  • Initial cost of PR, media and marketing consultant
