My Book: Endurance Within

Hi, my name is Rob Lee and I am a endurance racing cyclist from the UK. I have been racing bikes for the best part of two decades and over this time have enjoyed numerous things: winning races, breaking records, travel to far away places. I have taken on, beaten, and even reinvented some of the toughest endurance mountain bike challenges in the UK. I have taught skills, inspired others and coached the next generation of endurance athletes. I have been both priviledged and tormented by this sport that I love to my core. Earlier this year I completed the manuscript and, with the help of my partner Jen, the design for my first book: Endurance Within. A biographical work at heart, it includes tips, poetry and images to inspire anyone with a passion for pushing themself to, and at times beyond, the limit of their endurance. I first started work on Endurance Within in the hope of understanding the void that exists between the reality of my life, my riding, and me as a person, and the perception that others have. Through it's inception I found the key to changing from the person I was when I started, to the person I had always wanted to be. When I read it back to myself now I find I am inspired, yet somewhat appauled, to find that the act of putting it down on paper was almost as evolutionary as the events it describes. The question of publication has always been something of a battle. I know that some will find inspiration between the covers of my book. That they will read it and then find the same passion within themselves that I have felt as an athlete. But at the same time I understand that the book and these experiences have changed me from the person that much of this story describes. So I have decided to let the fate of it's final chapter - the creation of a finished, printed book - lie in the hands of those who would share the dream of endurance. Something we all have inside, it drives some of us to do the things that others cannot begin to understand. Something we share and yet cannot find words to describe. We have Endurance Within. So if this sounds like you, and you find that you would like to see my book become reality you can hold in your hands, you now have the chance to help make it happen. If you make your pledge today you can do so knowing that you take my book one step closer to reality. You can do so knowing that there will be limited numbers so that only those who share the dream will ever own a copy. And you can do so knowing that you can be one of them.
