Having recently received my bachelor’s degree in marketing at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, with a CGPA of 3.26, I developed an interest and passion in furthering my education and using it as a tool for economic development and social change.
Coming from a humble family in Ghana, I have grown to appreciate the need for the youth of every economy to be empowered with the tools and knowledge necessary for eliminating poverty. I believe the youth represents 100% of every countries future and thus should be given the necessary attention and support to be innovative and creative so that together we can help eliminate poverty in the world.
My greatest challenge in meeting my life goals and aspiration of using my knowledge to empower the youth to be more productive and self-employed has always been finance.
Financing my education has always been a great challenge to me and my family even though I have the passion to further my education and building on my capacity as an individual so that I can be in a better position to help educate and empower other young people like myself to be change makers in their lives, families, communities and in the country at large.
After receiving several unconditional offers of admission to various universities, including Aberdeen University, Westminster University, Newcastle University and University of Birmingham. I have since tried to seek various scholarships to help me pursue my master’s degree, all to no avail. I applied for in school scholarships and other organizational scholarships such as the Chevening and commonwealth scholarships but was turned down, mainly because most of the scholarships do not cover my chosen programme of study.
Being supported to fund my education at Westminster University to study MSc. Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Enterprise Development will be a great blessing and a dream come true, as it will help me to acquire great knowledge and skills needed to help develop my potential and that of my community.
Even as you pledge, I will like to take this opportunity to thank you and to restate my commitment to always strive to be the best wherever God may lead me and to also uphold the confidence and support given me.
Thank you and God richly bless you.
