I've always hated my birthdays. I've moved so much that never had friends or close family to celebrate it with and never felt like I had something to celebrate anyway. Two years ago my cousin took his own life on my birth day.
In recent years things have changed a lot. I've grown and learned so much, started to appreciate things I have instead of worrying what i don't have. Started to do what I've always wanted to do - volunteering, going to college and working with people, helping. That's when I thought about turning my miserable birtdays in to Fundraiser. With mental health playing huge part in my life, and so many other peoples life too, Mind was one of the organisations I wanted to help. Sometimes we forget how much people rely on charity organisations and how important it is to try and keep them going, so wanted to do my bit.
Last year I had my birthday party fundraiser in memory of my cousin and raised £140. This year I'm hoping to continue my new tradition and make it bigger and better.
Thank you for your time to read this and I hope you will donate anything you can.
