Hinchingbrooke School is a large secondary school in Huntingdon with over a 2000 strong student populace. Located on the the school site is the Performing Arts Centre which recieved specialist funding 20 years ago. In these last 20 years, the PAC has given thousands of students the opportunity to experience all aspects of the performing arts in a professional setting, it's a special place that has been loved and well used in the last two decades but is now requiring some extra investment to keep it up to date with curricular and extra curricular requirements of an educational establishment. One of these things are our school productions throughout the year aim to incorporate all students from varying interests. Beyond the school day the PAC is used by the much larger community and is a centre for all local arts.

Each year, Hinchingbrooke accomodates up to 250 students for a large school production and it has become financially unviable to keep providing the facilities for our enthusiastic and performance - loving students. We have reached the stage when we are in need to of help. Due to several factors including budget restraints and the ever increasing cost of materials it has become financially impossible to afford to hire or even build our own sets. As a result, we have come to the conclusion that having our own generic skeletal set structure will enable us provide a richer, more professional extracurricular program for our students. We hope to be able to share these facilities both with our students and the local community who often use our facilities for thier own performances and presentations.

The project has had some early success with a very kind part-funding from the Trustees of Hinchingbooke which has helped considerably to get the show under way. We are now crowdfunding for the remaining amount needed to see this project through to its full potential.

Having our own set would also enable us to extend learning opportunities to students interested in set building and set design as we would at last have the facility to incorporate this into the school production and other extra-curricular school events.

Below is an initial plan for a skeletal structure as to what the set may look like, this has been designed to accommodate a range of performances, presentations and productions. Should we be successful, we hope that it will serve our students for years to come, just like the PAC has.
