Arthur Mason was a good friend and fantastic Gentleman. Moth in a china shop was set up in his memory and to raise money I will be partiking in a 150mile bike ride from Cheltenham to his farm in Norfolk
On the 29th June 2016, myself and 60 of my team mates from University of Gloucestershire men's rugby union shall be departing on a 150 mile bike ride from Cheltenham to Fincham, Norfolk, lasting for three days! Why? To raise money for a charity called Moth in a China Shop, founded in memory of Arthur Mason, a young gentlemen that was a university student, rugby club member and who lost his life last year in a tragic accident. The charity exists to support areas where sport and nutritional awareness is not well established
We want to raise money to provide support in areas where sport and nutritional awareness is not well established. We are doing so by cycling from Cheltenham to Norfolk (150 miles) over three days, camping each night then arriving at Mr Hugh's farm in Fincham, Norfolk for a beer and food festival open to the public. All proceeds of the whole weekend will go to Moth in a China Shop.
Why do we care about this?
This charity is of sentimental value to everyone involved at University of Gloucestershire men's Rugby Union as it was established in memory of Arthur Mason, an ex student, ex member of the club and sorely missed member of an amazing family and amazing club who tragically lost his life at age 21 last summer in an accident on his farm.
How will the money be spent?
The money will be spent on things such as helping students raise awareness of the importance of sport through placement hours, providing them kit to run training sessions for children new to sport and to generally support the growing sporting population.
When will supporters see a difference?
We hope to have all money raised an accounted for by Monday 27th June 2016
