The project is to create an interactive educational Military Museum.
About the project
I presently operate Mobile Military Museum, it is an educational resource available for schools or other educational establishments to book. It has been running now for a year and a half. Phase 2 of The project is to set up a permenant Military Museum, to house the growing collection of Mobile Military Museum. Its main focus is education and to preserve the collection for future generations.
Mobile Military Museum has been going from strength to strength since its launch in 2013, the collection of artefacts has been growing steadily and now needs a permanent home. I have already invested over £25000 setting up Mobile Military museum and doing the ground work for a permanent base for the collection. I now need help to bring this to fruition. Introduction to the Plan:
Mobile Military Museum plans to set up and operate a unique visitor attraction in Scotland. The aim is to provide the most historically accurate and profound educational experience for all visitors. It will be set up in three phases.
Phase one: (complete & operating).
Setting up and operating Mobile Military Museum. The aim of this is to deliver a unique “hands on”, educational programme to schools and youth groups. It is also available to other groups, organisations and events.
Phase Two: (started ).
Set up and operate a Military Museum, specialising in British Military history dating back to World War I to the present day. It will also display artefacts from previous British military conflicts. Displays will also be included from Britain’s enemies. It will also house a Research Centre, Library, Education Centre and a Cafe.
Western Front Experience. The aim is to recreate a Trench system from WWI, showing visitors what it was like for the soldiers living and fighting in the trenches during the “Great War”, on both sides. It will feature newly constructed, historically accurate German and Allied trenches, along with “no man’s land”.
The overall plan is to deliver a series of unique learning experiences for visitors to significantly increase their knowledge and understanding of British Military History and the sacrifices made by our forefathers. The Three phases will be spread over a 5 year time span, starting December 2013 with the Launch of Mobile Military Museum.
