We are a new theatre company called Engineer Theatre Collective and we are taking our verbatim play 'Missing' to this summer's Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The new play, which has been awarded the Scottish Daily Mail Award, is based on the experiences of the families, friends and investigators of missing people in Britain and has been created from interviews personally held by members of the cast. Having successfully completed one run at the Etcetera Theatre, Camden, we are beginning to re-rehearse the show. We have secured a great venue (the Underbelly, Cowgate), have a versatile cast, a great story, a superb crew but no set...
All we have are some poorly made frames, cobbled together by some of the actors from when the show played at the Etctera Theatre, on a budget of £2.50. Despite Jake and Simon's (foolhardy) best efforts they no longer meet the calibre of show we are creating. Please help us build a new set for Missing, worthy of our great venue and worthy of the stories we are hoping to tell.
£750 will allow us to build an adaptable, strong new set, props and cover the costs of transporting these to Edinburgh and back again after the Fringe (which would be ideal as we don't want to leave it in London...)

More about our company:
We are an ensemble led, devising company made up of graduates from the Collaborative Devised BA at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. We are dedicated to creating work that is bold and visually striking and we favour a highly collaborative design approach in order to build distinctive worlds for each production or project we work on.
A note on the importance of telling this story:
We entered into working on this show with a feeling that the mystery of disappearance is something unique that needs to be explored. The more we have uncovered from interviews with families or friends of people who have gone missing, the police, and journalists, the more we believe we have an important story to tell. Having a set, props and costumes that enable us to create a show that is artistically engaging and has strong production values is vital as this will enable us to relay the stories we have discovered with grace and care.
