Mend The Lake District!

Happy to donate. The Goverment urge us all to get out and use the National Parks, least they could do is help the cause. Better still, a Lakeland Tax. That way everyone visiting contributes and all the good causes benefit. Mountain Rescue, path repair, better waymarkers etc.

A donation should be a mandatory part of all those doing the Three Peaks challenge. I climbed Scafell Pike last month and was very impressed by the work done to the paths since the last time I had climbed it.

It is the least that can be done to put something back into the lake District for all the enjoyment it has provided.

An excellent cause and one that all "Three Peakers" should support to contribute towards upkeep of the paths they use so much!

This is a great idea. It's a shame the work has not been government funded, particularly considering what valuable, beautiful and tourist attractions these mountains are. Thank you.

This is such a brilliant idea! I do research on the effects of erosion (and other problems) due to the presence of paths and tracks in the UK uplands, on sensitive upland habitats, and the fact that you are working to minimise the problem is very much appreciated by us ecologists as well as the walkers. Thank you.

Just returned from a weekend in the Patterdale and Glenridding area and seen the damage to the fells first hand. Hope the money is raised and the repairs needed can be done. Best of luck!

A well worth project but it will need much more than £10 k to repair these paths, however, a excellent start -well done

A unique area of natural beauty that needs to be protected.

The Lakes hold some of my most cherished memories, from a first trip with my soon to be wife, to trips with our kids, to latterly using Wainwright as an "excuse" to explore parts of the Lakes less well trod. It all needs our help - it's time to give something back.

If you ever walk in the Lake District then this project needs your support. Of course, this should be funded by the Government .............

After a couple of years of Bob Graham reccies I came to know the Lakeland mountains all too well, and Scafell Pike in particular. These great places have become "over-loved" in terms of erosion and it will be great to help mend this important approach.
