In the Summer of 2016 I am taking on the Machu Picchu Trek across Peru to raise vital funds for Action Against Hunger.
Action Against Hunger works to save the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with sustainable access to safe water and good nutrition. With over 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster and chronic food insecurity, Action Against Hunger helped over 13.6 million people in 47 countries last year and I want to help them get one step closer to ending child hunger, for good.
An estimated 52 million children suffer from malnutrition across the world and sadly, 1 million children die from the condition each year. However, the solution is out there and that's where Action Against Hunger comes in. They've got the tools and knowledge to put an end to malnutrition but they need our support to make this a reality.
Through taking on the trek I'm hoping to raise vital funds to support their work.
Every pound Action Against Hunger receive is greatly appreciated, and they are committed to ensuring that your donation makes a real difference to the lives of those the charity works with in their programmes. Your donation will go a long way to help those in need as:
£1 can provide a day’s supply of therapeutic food for a malnourished child
£42 can provide the nutritional treatment needed to save the life of a severely malnourished child and nurse them back to health
£140 can fund the rehabilitation of a well for a community to improve access to water, stopping children from becoming malnourished in the first place
Thank you for supporting me on the Machu Picchu Trek
