A project to prepare LPF Kiddies club children for going back to school and equipping them with the basics like pens, paper, and stationary needed.
The start of a new school year can be a stressful time for some children and their families and with the added pressure of finances it can become even more so. We want to deliver a series of workshops with our club children designed to prepare them for this transition at the end of which we will present them all with backpacks filled with a variety of things they will need for the start of a new school year.
We found that while we provide our club children with all the resources they need to complete their work during Saturday school when they go home some of them don't have the basics needed to complete the homework set or to even partake in the activities of writing or drawing just for fun because their parents can't afford to provide them with these basic tools. We also noted that some of our club chilren were anxious of starting the new year I'll equipped which prompted us to to want to develop a project to equip our club children both with statergies to cope with the transition as well as basic resources.
