Photography project documenting London aesthetically. Looking at the change in the city over recent years compared to London 10 years ago. The change in the city is dramatic, as one of those rare born and raised Londoners living here I have seen many changes. Either for the benefit of the natives, or for those having moved to the capital there is no ignoring the great impact this is having on our city. So I would like to photograph the change to document that.
London has changed continiously since I was a young girl growing up here, as the ever changing landscape continues to flourish, the projects aim will be to photograph the lives of those living in the capital. Living in London i am lucky enough to live in a part of the capital that has a thriving arts scene, being amoungst young artists and entrepeneours who are playing a part in creating this vibrant change. Capturing what the city looks like in 2016.
I will be shooting predominantly in colour, wanting to emphasise the use of colour in my images. The interest in this style has come about as it's a style of photography I have been shooting since I first picked up a camera, in my early teens. I began to photograph life going on around me, through the lives of people I knew or who i would meet, and collectively our surroundings.
Following the project I would like to exhibit my collection of images in a gallery viewing space, where eveyone who supported the project will be invited to view the images. The exhibit will have refreshments of tea, being a social gathering for like minded artists and anyone interested in the project.
I have been an arts photographer for several years, I studied at London college of communication and have been taking travel photos around the world. For the last 5 years I have been based living back in London, moving back here to study. The reason i no longer have a camera is my flat was broken into last year and all my camera equiptment and laptop were stolen, sadly. So i havent been able to take any photos since, except on my iphone camera. Its really important to me to continue to develop my skills and passion in art and this is my chosen art field. By supporting my project you will be a part of a huge goal to own another camera, getting back to working on a new project.
