New stretch target
Due to the overwhelming success of our initial target we have stretched our goal to be half what has been calculated we could make. The more we make the better the park can be transformed. The surplus will help with starting and funding future projects.
Thanks to all that have pledged
We are a small group of volunteers in Atherton near Manchester in the UK who are passionate about our town, In recent years our town has taken a nose dive in involvement from our local council, community buildings have been sold off, council workers ie parks litter etc are few and far between in been seen so we as a group took it upon ourself to take over our park to stop it completely unloved. We have been up and running for about 4 months, we are established have a committee, a management plan, and bank account and around 140 facebook members with around 30 active volunteers. We have applied for local government funding and along with every other group in Atherton been declined, so we have decided to try crowd funding. The £350 we are asking for will help us to pay for plants and equipment we need to move forwards in our plan and make our park somewhere that feels loved and other residents a place to spend time in with family and friends.
