A community based project reaching out to all human kind to help raise sufficient funds for our child, friend, brother and son, thhe wonderful Pawel Wiercinski. Pawel is 28 years old and was born with cerebral palsy- spastic quadriplegia. Cerebral palsy is the name for a condition in which brain damage has disrupted normal muscle functioning. Spastic quadriplegia is the most serious and disabling form of spastic cerebral palsy, and is caused by extensive brain damage or by congenital malformations in the brain.
Like most patients with spastic quadriplegia, Pawel cannot walk or talk. His limbs are extremely stiff. Increasing his mobility and making him more comfortable are two major goals in the treatment of spastic quadriplegia. There is no cure, but life can be made easier for him through a combination of various treatments.
Pawel is the only child of the Wiercinski family, who live on the 1st floor of their apartment building. Pawel's mother has dedicated her life taking care of Pawel, hence is a full time housewife and carer, living only Pawel's dad to earn their livelihood as a teacher in one of the local schools. Paweł’s father is now 50 years old and with time it has become extremely difficult for him to carry his 28 year old son all the way up and down the stairs, which is necessary for various activities such as physiotherapy sessions, fresh air and general outing for Pawel's well being and growth in a positive and loving environment. This has caused extreme health issues for Pawel's father, and his health has become an equal cause of concern for us as a community.
Due to severe financial constraints, the family is being forced to live without the most basic facilities that a severely disabled spastic sufferer requires.
Family budget is only£500 per month. They live a very frugal life, and relying on donations for rehabilitation alone.
Hence, we, the neighbours, friends and well wishers of this beautiful, God fearing and very dignified family have decided to work relentlessly to raise funds so that we can have a lift installed to facilitate Pawel's weekly rehabilitations and walks.
The cost of the lift is GBP11,837/-. So far we have been able to raise GBP 3,837/- since January 2016. We need approximately GBP 8,000/- more in order to make life a little more comfortableand a little healthier for both Pawel and his parents.
To raise the balance of GBP 8,000/- in a small town of Paslek with most families on basic earnings is extremely difficult. As Pawel grows older and heavier, and continues to grow more severely disabled due to lack of basic facilities, his father's health also continues to deteriorate severely. Pawel's condition is from birth. However, his father's deteriorating health can be mitigated as we, the human race unite to make a positive difference to the lives of these two people.
Any donation will go a long way towards helping this beautiful family improve their only child's health and restore the health of the father in the process.
I hope that my cry out for help for this loving family and adorable Paweł will reach your caring hearts, and look forward to receiving a very favourable and generous response.
