This is a project to set up a 'Library in the Landscape' at Tegg's Nose Country Park, Macclesfield. The library would be a weather-proof box on a metal post in a sheltered spot next to a bench with a good view. Walkers could sit and read for a while or borrow a book and return it (or another book in its place) on a future visit. The Library has its own facebook page where people can see updates about how the project is progressing. We hope that this will also be a place for readers to leave comments about books they have discovered at, or donated to, the Library. We are only looking to raise funds for some materials for constructing and maintaining the 'box', as we have managed to source some materials from donations eg of unwanted roofing felt. The construction and maintenance work and the work of looking after the library will be done by volunteers, including myself. We already have a good stock of donated books to get started! The project is fortunate to have the permission and the enthusiastic support and active involvement of Ranger Martin James, the Cheshire East Countryside Service Ranger responsible for Tegg s Nose.

They did it!
