The Peers Connections Group is a local campaign group, who has a responsibility to go out into the communities, engaging with all relevant NHS Professionals and with those people that has Learning Disabilities including the people on the Autistic Spectrum. And by assisting them to access appropriate services, if it is needed to be put into place. the group also assists those on the mental health spectrum by steering them to the relevant agencies and organisations that can deal with specific issues.
We have several projects we would like to continue and a couple of new projects that could help to keep this group active, especially for those on the spectrum and helping to provide health and wellbeing activities for those on the spectrum, we are asking for your help. As well as outsourcing external activities. Including; no nonsense fitness, arts and crafts, plus other activities.
The group would like to produce community magazines that advertise all communities in North East Lincolshire, including whats on and activities. Not to forget the running of the organisation and to produce events and fundraising events.
We would like to provide a mental health forum, where everyone who suffers with anxiety, depression, flashbacks, suicidal tendancies etc. can come to the forum and share their knowlege and experience in an open forum to help themselves feel like they do belong in this world. It will be managed by a member from the group who suffers from it herself.
We also want to help those who would like to train as DJ's and become self employed on the circuit. Especially for Disability Discos, including those who are on the Mental Health and Learning Disability Spectrum.
