2016 has been quite a year for all of us. Brexit. Changes in Government. And of course the swell of support for Jeremy Corbyn. But there is one thing that has remained the same in our United Kingdom......Poverty. In my 2014 Christmas message I talked about my distaste for the culture of dispisement towards doing good and was moved by the number of viewers who got in touched to say they had been inspired. Some of you started volunteering for chairty, others donated money and most of you shared a mince pie or two!
Well 2 years on and the country seems to be getting more and more like the inadeqautes my character Alex served at 'Bastards' in the 1987 film 'Eat the Rich'. The racism, poverty and anxiety aswell as the punishment of the poor for being poor cannot be ignored. Our housing crisis, low pay and economic concerns bring so much grief to us that we often forget there are those less fortunate. This is what my 2016 Christmas Message is about.
But I need your help!
In order to produce the film I need a small budget of £2,500.
I don't make any money on this and will spend it on the following:
- Production (director, studio etc) £600
- Editing £400
- Camera hire £300
- Publicity and promotion £1000
- Travel £200
Thank you so much for your support. Anyone who donates will get one of my unique rewards and a huge amount of appreciation. Please share this campaign so that we can get the production underway - thank you!
