To secure funding for La Petite Bouchée in order to make her more secure and able to be moved.

New stretch target

The aditional revenue will be spent on brushing up the decor, buying less primative cooking equipment and investing in a trailer so that we can transport her to more places around London.

Project aim

To secure funding for La Petite Bouchée to increase security.

About the project

La Petite Bouchée is the most unique French Brasserie in London. Based in our vintage citroen HY camper van, La Petite Bouchée opened it's doors in the pouring rain on August 8th 2014 and served 'The best mussels I've ever tasted' We've continued to grow and we have secured a sound customer base and made some great friends.

The concept for La Petite Bouchée is simple. We're a 4- seater bistro serving simple yet hugely flavoursome, french cuisine and beyond at pre- booked events. Additionally, La Petite Bouchée can design private parties, from birthdays to anniversaries, corporate meetings and product launches. You book, we'll give you a choice of menu, then we'll go and source the ingredients ready for your event. We support our local economy, we buy 98% of our ingredients locally. All our our ingredients are responsibly sourced and everything is made from scratch. We cook either in our field kitchen at La Petite Bouchee or in our kitchen based minutes away from our beautiful surroundings in Sydenham Wells Park. We'd been looking forward to a great summer ahead when I received a phone call telling me that one of our windows had been smashed. Not anything unusual in this day and age. We went to survey the damage and found not only one window smashed, but the windscreen.Visible holes in each.

We felt sick, but acted quickly to cancel our booked Sunday Brunch for 9 realising the glass was unstable and it was far from appropriate to open. As it turned out we made the right decision as there was a further attack over night and all but three windows were shattered or punched in. An air rifle was used, our beautiful old girl had visible bullet holes and shells were found on the ground next to her.

Whilst we are insured, we still need capitol to increase the security on the van. We have very tight margins at LPB and if this happens again then sadly our dream will be over. We know LPB is loved from the huge outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This gives us heart and means we will fight to save our livelihood.

What our guests have said....

"Been twice and a wonderful way to have a very different type of evening. Great food, very reasonably priced and quite bizarre in the best possible way! " - Roger

"We went for brunch on Sunday, and actually this was our second experience at La Petite Bouchee as we came for moules frites earlier in the year. As before, we had a brilliant time! The food (Jason had croque Madame and I had an omlette, followed by our body-weight in pastries and gorgeous home-made jam) was absolutely brilliant and Anita-Clare's hospitality is wonderful! We have booked to go back again soon and I can't recommend it highly enough; try her Bloody Maries if you go for brunch, they're superb! Thanks for another great meal :)"  - Emma and Jason

"Been twice now to the cutest and most imaginative restaurant venue in London. Chef Anita's cooking is trumped only by her joyous and generous personality. On both occasions the food was top quality, but undoubtedly the langoustines were the best I've ever had. The wines were excellent and more-than-reasonably priced" - Daphne

"Was treated to an evening in this gorgeous Citroen Van in Wells Park last night. I have to say, I LOVED IT. Anita is so enthusiastic and passionate about her food. She clearly cares deeply about tasty, quality food. Every aspect of this evening was perfect, even the weather held out for us! The Prosecco was creamy and perfectly chilled, but the Fruits de Mer were superb. I'd never had whelks or winkles before so was very excited to try them. Langoustines, oysters, mussels and lobster are among my most favourite foods and these were of the highest quality! The lobster was sweet and meaty, the mussels plump, langoustines were massive and the oysters still tasting of the sea they were plucked from. Anita's mayo is utterly delicious (we were dipping our bread in it, we couldn't get enough) and her shallot vinegar for the oysters, was very tasty. I'm not sure what was better, the perfectly converted little van, the genius of positioning it in the park, the wonderful Anita or the food. So they all get 12 out of 10 & I can't wait to go back :-)" - Emma H.
