To enable me to be part of a team at Burnley FC in the Community who are volunteering at a school in Ghana, West Africa for 8 days in Oct '17, I need your help to raise £2000.
This is challenging, yet rewarding role. With overcrowding an issue at the projects, improved facilities are needed to accommodate growing numbers and create more conducive learning spaces for the children.
I will work in a supporting capacity alongside qualified builders to help build and decorate school structures. Tangible objectives and clear progress make this role so worthwhile.
While in Ghana I will be volunteering at Dedzidi Community Complex School. This
is where Burnley FC in the Community have volunteered previously, assisting with the build
of a new two storey classroom block.
I am really looking forward to doing something meaningful in another country. Most of you will know I regualrly do things for Charity in this country (Ive slept out of the homeless, abseiled for charity and various runs).
The target is 2000 and if I am lucky enough to get over that amount I'd like to donate the rest into Ribble FM a CIC not-for-profit station for allowing me the time to go and also so I can take the local children T-shirts.
We are going with African Adventures who believe in providing meaningful volunteer experiences, organised in partnership with community projects in developing areas of Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.
African Adventures organises trips to Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar for people in the UK to volunteer with community projects in developing areas. African Adventures’ Community Development Pledge outlines the way that they work in partnership with their host communities and volunteers. Impact is clear from every trip, for both the projects and the volunteers.
