My Crowdfunder is to raise funds to find a location in which to set up and open a reasonably priced recording and rehearsal studio in Bolton which will benefit the local community and provide opportunities for artists.

Unlike the facade of other studios (which can be somewhat daunting or unwelcoming to some people), it will be a welcoming, holistic business, where no questions are silly and everyone is there to support and help others. People with little equipment or background, but a passion and talent for music will be able to come and use the facilities for a reasonable price - including younger or disadvantaged children/teens who couldn't afford to express themselves otherwise.

I have a degree in Popular Music and Record Production and play keys. I am now a teacher who co-ordinates the teaching of music during school and as an extra-curricular activity. I have had a lifelong passion for music but found when I was younger - during college and even after university, I didn't have money to hire a studio or buy the expensive equipment needed to follow this. I wished there was a project, such as this, which supports people - regardless of gender or age, or knowledge of the latest genre of music or equipment, and without 'knowing the right people' or 'knowing it all already' - in making music that they wish to make.

The venture will provide jobs for graduates and college leavers with musical experience, to learn as they work and share their talents and ideas with the artists.

It would also be fantastic to put some of the artist's music out and promote live music in Bolton, working with other local businesses. If this is successful, I would love to grow the business nationally, and provide these same opportunities for more and more people throughout the UK.
