Be part of our family to help disadvantaged young people suceed in a caring training and employment environment within the hospitality industry.
We want to establish an Artisan Cafe, Bistro and Fine Dining establishment that creates the wrap around care that allows disadvantaged members of society suceed much the same as Jamie Olivers 15.
Even though Basildon is one of the fastest growing commuter belts it also has pockets of some of the highest deprivation in the country.
At Key Lime we are a not for profit organisation thats want to turn a boarded up former pub into a thriving business creating 26 new jobs paying a minimum of £8.30ph and a 40 place a year 2 year apprenticeship programme. We have already increased turnover at the small community cafe in a local park we took over in May by 150% most days and have been planning this project for over two years.
But thats not all - community is key to our philosophy and we want Key Lime to be at the centre of ours. From hero of the month (where customers can vote for their volunteer of the month) to free meals for couples celebrating their goden wedding aniversary. Kids feature too, whether its story time 3 times a day for the little ones or cup cake decorating for the older ones while mum/dad or the grandparents grab that well earned coffee whilst their charges are entertained by our DBS checked staff.
Add to that our unique and wide ranging choice of cakes, roasts of beans and blends of teas in the cafe, wholesome meals in the Bistro or the extravagance of fine dining at an affordable price all prepared from scratch on the premises and we are conident that we have a real recipe for sucess.
We even have customers waiting to book!!! - help us make our dream a reality please donate generously and join the Key Lime family where great service is only surpassed by great food.
We have raised some of the money needed through a £20,000 grant from our local Police and Crime Commisioner but are looking to raise as much of the rest of the money needed to fit out the premises as possible through crowdfunding before using traditional methods.
Here are some of the items we will use your money together with our grant towards:
£43,000 rent deposit (we will get this back in five years and will put it towards opeining a second venture)
£35,000 extraction, air conditioning and heating
£15,000 electrical fixtures and fittings
£18,500 for a training kitchen
£25,000 for our main kitchen
£10,000 towards furniture
£12,500 for a changing places toilet for use of severely disabled residents that will be for general use not only for our clients (see www.changingplaces.co.uk for further information). There is no other facility for this group within the town.
So thats whats in it for us BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU!
