I am Katrin, currently I am a Beaver Scout Leader and a Network Scout. Help me, Help others in South Africa to help the community.

I am Katrin I am a 22 years old and from Suffolk, currently I am a Beaver Scout Leader and a Network Scout.

I am 1 of 120 Explorer and Network Scouts to be excepted to on a life changing expedition to South Africa.

Before we even hit foreign soil I will take part in two practice expeditions and eight training camps were I will learn a range of new skills including brick laying, plumbing and about language and culture to help improve the lives of the community we visit. We plan not only to work on and repair and build better facilitys but also teach how they can also maintain them when we have gone.

While in South Africa I will be taking part in the explorer belt challenge with consists of travelling 5 hours a day independently though South Africa will completing challenges as well as helping the local community for 10 days.

This is a great opportunity not only to help me to embrace three and a half weeks of culture but also helping the local community in Africa as we will be building homes for the elderly, improving living conditions orphan children as well as charity's such as the lonely road foundation and much more.

I need to raise £2500 to take part in the fantastic opportunity and more funds are needed to purchase essential equipment for the trip such as a tent and sleeping bag suitable for the conditions I will face in South Africa. Any eqipment I take with me will be left in africa ( given to the homeless etc).

My aim is not only to help the comunitys with man hours but everything I take to africa stays in africa this may include my tent, sleeping bag, clothing, roll mat, mesh tins, cutlery, cup and much more But this may only be possible for equipment purchased with donated money. so please give as much as you can for this wonderful cause.
