Karma is a dark comedy which follows a 19-year-old girl as she struggles with the challenges of university life. She seems perfectly normal, with one important exception: since she was brutally murdered in her sleep, she roams the campus as a ghost, invisible to her fellow students. Unable to move on, she must find out who murdered her, and get her revenge before her killer hurts anyone else.
Karma is the first production of The University of East Anglia's Filmmaking Society, a group of ambitious students from varying backgrounds united by a passion for film. We're handling every aspect of the production without help from outside: from writing the script to filming, editing, and distributing the final product. We believe it's important that students get a taste of the different roles involved in filmmaking , because this experience will be invaluable once they graduate and become the world's next directors, editors and scriptwriters.
Because we're a new student society and we're producing this film independently, we need some help to get the project off the ground. We would like to invest in equipment that will last us a few years, so we can produce high quality films that our members can put on their showreels and CV's. As for every film, a portion of the money we raise goes to props and costumes, as well as catering to keep our cast and crew on their feet. We're also raising money to enter our film into film festivals, most of which have a small entry fee. With your help we can make an enjoyable film of high quality, and hopefully become a large and prestigious society in the years to come.
