I'm raising funds, to cover the costs of my 6 months stay in Ghana. I will be leaving in August and staying in a neighbouring town near to the capital city Acrra. Working in a hosptial, will be an amazing experience and will also help in my future aspirations to be a nurse. I am so looking foward to commiting my time and energy to this voluntary work.
Ghana has a failing healthcare system and with diseases such as Maleria and Aids being so rife, help is greatly needed. Although, I will be only one fish in a large sea of volunteers, every persons help is important. Throughout the 6 months I will be staying in Ghana I will aquire a wealth of experience which I could not get elsewhere. Despite its short comings in healthcare, Ghana is a beautiful country filled with a vast rich culture.
I have always known I wanted to take a gap year, and the timing is perfect to go do my part and help others. Before university and my career take over. After a long period of indecisiveness as to what I wanted to do in my gap year, I discovered Lattitude Global Volunteering. They are an amazing UK registered charity helping wishful volunteers like myself, find placements abroad. While supporting the local communities and the projects they are apart of. They do lots of amazing work in schools and hospitals across the globe. I could not be more excited about this opportunity. It really will be life changing!
The money raised will cover, the flights which cost between £400-500 return, various vaccinations including the compulsory Yellow fever jab which costs £60; and will go towards the hospital and my accommodation with the host family. In total I want to raise £2700. Can you help me to achieve my dream?
