Corelli College is taking our show JUST by Ali Smith to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016.  Taking a large cast and performing at the Fringe is expensive and we need your help.  Being invited to play at the Assembly Rooms is an unprecedented achievement for young people still in school.  Performing in such a high profile venue is a life-changing experience for our students.

Corelli Theatre Company in association with Greenwich Theatre presents JUST by Ali Smith directed Lucy Cuthbertson.  An anniversary production of this darkly comic, surreal satire on contemporary justice.  Victoria is accused of a very British crime when she discovers a body stabbed in the back with an umbrella.  She is innocent but the townspeople believe otherwise.  Justice must be done.  A decade after it premiered on the Olivier stage, we find it is still as sharp and relevant as ever.  "My premiering company of choice, never short of brillant". Ali Smith.

Corelli Theatre company is an ensemble company of young actors from Corelli College based in South East London.  We are considered the most outstanding school-based company in the UK with national acclaim including Fringe Report Best Play 2008 for Hotel World.  We have had a long-standing collaboration with Greenwich Theatre, and have regulary transferred productions to Riverside Studios, The Cutty Sark Studio Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe.  JUST represents another step in the innovative entertainment and high standards of professional theatre we have bought to audiences.

We need to raise £10,000 to make this exciting project happen, which we hope to raise by you lovely people and supporters of our work. We need to fund: Venue hire, accomodation, marketing and travel.

How will your contribution make a difference:

For everyone involved in the original production it is hard to believe that a decade has passed.  Being part of the National Theatre Connections was an incredible opportunity for us.  We were chosen to perform on the National Theatre's Olivier stage and we were reviewed by Michael Billington of the Guardian; it was an astonishing night that none of us will ever forget.  Returning to the play a decade later has been really enjoyable.  It still feels so relevant and I have found myself appreciating its brilliance even more.  We are so grateful to Ali Smith for suggesting a revival and supporting our work.

In the current educational climate where schools are even lucky to retain a Drama Department, we hope you appreciate the enormity of this project.  Please help us to make it happen!

Lucy Cuthbertson - Director and head of Drama at Corelli College
