JK Apparel

Urban Dance Wear for The Community.

Thank you for showing an interest in my project for urban dance wear. My name is Halima Miah and I am one of the co-founders of JK Apparel along with my brother Abu Miah. This project is an exciting opportunity to give young individuals their place within an inspiring and creative community.

Urban dance wear is just one of the many branches in urban street wear that JK Apparel is hoping to expand in. So far in this project I have developed a few prototypes consisting of t-shirts, sweatshirts, bottoms and snapbacks however, in order for me to continue manufacturing these garments I am in need of investments. This will also support me when pitching my business idea to angel investors on the 1st of April.

JK Apparel aim to be working closely with schools to create a contest where the winner of the runway show has their designs be a part of the JK Apparel collection. Students will have the chance to design their own clothing and present them in a runway in order to begin their own journey into fashion.

It is more likely for young consumers to be influenced by street fashion and the influence of what others around them are wearing instead of what is shown on TV and magazines. Urban dancewear has also been highly incorporated within this trend and is supported through social media celebrities.

Social media and online blogs allow anyone to become who they want to be. This can impact the minds of youths by encouraging them to dance as a form of fitness or simply for fun, allowing individuals to form partnerships and share their progression.
