Unfortunately this project was not successful.

80 year old Peter Smith lived happily for 17 years in his lovely thatched cottage in Ide, Exeter, with his son, Jerry, his wife Mariko and his two grand children who attend school in the area.On January 23rd 2015 their lives were left in utter devastation when their beloved home went up in flames. It is not yet known what caused the fire, Some 12 fire engines were deployed from Exeter, Topsham, Crediton, Honiton, Newton Abbot, Cullompton, Exmouth and Torquay, it took over 60 firefighter to get the fire under control, miraculously no one was injured, however EVERYTHING was left in ashes. One fire fighter said...“It’s a real shame because it’s a gorgeous building and there’s virtually nothing left. Thankfully these kind of incidents are rare.” The Smith Family need our help, we believe that in situations like this community spirit can give what seems a very dark place some well needed light. There is nothing left of their belongings, clothes, books, photo albums, a life time of memories destroyed, we can't help but wonder how what we would do in this situation. If you can help in any way, by donating via our this page we would truly appreciate it.Because we are crowd funding, we need to hit our target of £2000 within 3 weeks or the money already donated will be given back to the donor. Together we can make a difference! Many many thanks for your kindness!Andy & Joanne xx
