Help us turn Ayr yellow, and assist the SNP to win a constituency we have never held before.
Ayr constituency, which includes Ayr, Prestwick and Troon, is a marginal seat, and swings between the Tories and the SNP in opinion polls.
This will be a tight contest as the Tories will be determined to hold onto this seat – but we’re just as determined to win it for the SNP and for a more progressive Scotland.
Since our last crowdfunder, Ayr SNP have been busy. Led by our energetic and committed candidate, Jennifer Dunn, we’ve been out over the winter in the rain, hail and snow chapping doors. We know from our canvass returns that we can win here, but we also need to use every resource we can to make sure that we do.
Please help us win the last Tory seat in the old Strathclyde region by donating to our campaign.
What we need to fund
Any successful modern campaign needs significant financial resources to get its message out to voters. Our main priorities, which the funds raised here will enable, are:
- personalised letters to target groups of voters, to help build trust in the SNP
- telephone canvassing
- a quality election address
About the constituency
Ayr constituency includes Ayr itself, Prestwick and Troon, and Alloway and Doonfoot. It includes Prestwick Airport – which the Scottish Government bought over saving hundreds of local jobs – and alsyr Gaiety, Ayr Academy, Queen Margaret Academy and Ayr Hospital, all local institutions which the Government is investing heavily in.
Both Votes SNP
As much as possible, all our campaign materials carry the “Both Votes SNP” message – the South of Scotland has several challenging seats and we’re doing all we can to help elect as many list candidates in this region as possible.
