Myself and my partner are raising money for us to be able to have a child. My partner had a vasectomy done a number of years ago as he has two children and was happily married. We have been together for nearly four years. We decided that we would like to have a child of our own. We managed to save up the £4000 required to have the vasectomy reversal done my partner also sold his car to help fund this. Unfortunately the reversal was unsuccessful due to the original operation being done incorrectly which we only found out after paying the fee for the reversal. I have contacted numerous consultants across the UK and all have advised that the only way forward for us is to have ICSI. I have been in touch with the NHS for funding but we do not meet the criteria as my partner has two children already. The guidelines for funding are outdated as step families are more common in society now however we are penalised due to this. I am a 28 year old female with no children and would love nothing more than to have a child of my own. We will never be able to conceive naturally but I am able to get pregnant with a child that would biologically be ours through ICSI. The thought of paying for the treatment seems unobtainable to us as we used our savings to fund the reversal any help towards the cost would be a godsend for us.
