About the conference
The International Conference on Information Technology and Economic Development (ICITED2016) is a major event, which brings together business leaders, high calibre academics and government officials. It originated from The Information Institute which is a non profit, non partisan, information policy, research and educational organization incorporated in USA. The conference focuses on the multilateral collaboration between developing countries and rising economies. Previous editions of it were hosted in South Africa and in Calabar, Nigeria (2008 and 2009). This year it is going to be hosted also in Calabar, Nigeria. It is also going to be co-organized with the help of the University of the West of Scotland and University of Calabar. Advances in information technology are getting faster in pace not only in developed but also in developing economies. ICITED aims to bring current research, case studies and professional experiences on how information technology is moving or can be moving economic development which is the aim of every society. The theme this time is Information Technology for Innovative Economy. The event should inspire a fruitful dialogue among practitioners, government officials, scholars, and investors.
The Project Aim
Conference is a perfect venue for knowledge sharing, learning, networking and dissemination of ideas. It should inspire a fruitful dialogue among practitioners, government officials, scholars, and investors. The last two conferences resulted in journal publications and an IGI book Leveraging Developing Economies with the use of Information Technology: Trends and Tools. This conference will repeat the experience. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Best papers will be considered for publication in Journal of IT for Development, Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries, the International Journal of Knowledge Management, and a proposed book on Information Technology for Innovative Economy. This year it will also be accompanied by a range of thematically arranged workshops.
