I have been selected to go to Impulstanz on a DanceWeb scholarship. I need to raise some additional funds to help have the best summer possible!
What makes a good summer here is a list:
1. Going to ImPuls Tanz
2. Dancing everyday
3. Meeting and dialoguing with other brilliant artist who will be at the festival
Now the seriousness... I have been select as one of the 66 individuals (out 1100 Applicants) to attend the DanceWeb programme at ImPuls Tanz. It is such an honor to recieve this scholarship and opportunity and I am extremely excited for the adventure.
What is DanceWeb: "The danceWEB Scholarship Programme is a 5-week residency, taking place every year in July/August within the frame of ImPulsTanz - Vienna international Dance Festival. The project offers about 65 young professional dancers and choreographers from approximately 40 mainly European but also non-European countries the possibility to experience an intense multinational further training program in the field of Contemporary Dance and Performance.
Artistic mentors, selected amongst renowned choreographers, whose work have a major impact on the development of contemporary dance on an international level, accompany the program.
Since its creation in 1996, over 1050 young professional dancers and choreographers from 87 countries have taken part in this unique program."
The scholarship funds 2/3rds of the fee. To help raise awareness and share in the responsibility of supporting dance internationally I have to raise another 1/3 plus some additional funds for travel and per diem. I have been able to raise a little through some professional development funds from my places of labor but still need to keep spreading my network.
I am reaching out to as many people, organisations and universes as possible to help me raise the additional funds needed.
