Message to potential crowdfunders
Please consider supporting our crowdfunding campaign and helping Magic Fairy Wings & What’s Good To Do grow and reach their full potential.
I am a mum of 3 who runs my own business to work flexibly around my children. My business, Toys and Clothes Ltd was launched back in 2003. In 2010, a close friend of mine joined my ecommerce business as Director. At that time, our business activity was just ecommerce. Later we launched www.whatsgoodtodo.com, which has grown into a successful UK what’s on guide, reviews and articles website which has 16,000-21,000 unique website visits per month. David & I are 2 of the most hardworking & determined individuals you could meet. Our ecommerce website www.magicfairywings.co.uk sells some lovely baby goods, clothing & toys. My own little magic fairy is now not so little. She is now 11 years old and in high school. In 2012 her non ID twin brothers arrived, now 4 years old. Both websites have recently been redesigned.
I am really glad that I have the flexibility of running my own business, because I have had some health issues for a number of years. Last year I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome hypermobility type (a rare genetic condition with a 50:50 chance of children inheriting it), chronic fatigue syndrome & fibromyalgia. I also have suspected POTS and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. It has taken some time for me to come to terms with this, but I am very much a positive person and am living a fulfilling life, just with a few adjustments. I mention this for 2 really important reasons. Having a long term medical condition does not have to stop you going after your dreams. I also want to raise awareness of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, as sadly there is a lack of awareness and whilst all the signs were there, my diagnosis was only finally made last year.
Why am I crowdfunding?
I would love to take Magic Fairy Wings and What’s Good To Do to the next level. My plans are as follows:
Magic Fairy Wings – offer same day dispatch when customers order before 1pm & free same day delivery to LU3, LU4 and LU5 postcodes either by public transport or on foot. Offer schools & charities a unique discount code to give out. They can earn 10% cash back on each order placed using their unique code. Buy new shelving to make picking stock much easier and save me getting help from other people lifting and rearranging the boxes of stock. I also hope to expand the Magic Fairy Wings product range.
What’s Good to Do – Launch the What’s Good to Do Membership card in July 2017. This card will give discounts/offers at restaurants, attractions etc. This will potentially save families hundreds of pounds a year. Offer schools & charities a unique discount code to give out. They can earn £5.00 for each order placed using their unique discount code. The Membership card will come with a yearly and monthly payment option. We would like to have an Android & iPhone/iPad app developed for the Membership card. The special launch price of the Membership card will be £19.99 and then the regular price £29.99. These customers will receive a physical printed card. Customers paying monthly won’t receive a physical card. The special launch price of the pay monthly option will be £2.00 a month and then the regular price £3.00 per month. Customers will be able to cancel the monthly plan at any time. The process of renewing a Membership card will be manual. We will not automatically take the next year’s payment.
To carry out my plans, I need to raise £8,600.00.
