We love to bring our productions into schools, to encourage children to enjoy and take part in music and drama. Our current Gilbert & Sullivan productions, The Pirates Of Penzance and The Mikado, really lend themselves for children and young people to participate. We've had so many wonderful experiences working alongside schools and youth orchestras resulting in performances in their school halls, playgrounds and concert halls.
However, so many schools do not now have the budget or means to be able to bring us in, our Pirates Of Penzance project would cost the school £1500 and our Mikado £2500, although a good percentage of the cost could be reclaimed by selling tickets to the general public, schools are nervous about the potential loss working towards a performance could involve.
Opera Anywhere are taking part in the 'Music Education Expo' at Olympia on the 25th and 26th February, we would love to offer at least 5 of the schools that come to our stand at the exhibition, financially assisted project / performances, to the tune of £500 each.
Do consider helping us to reach out to schools who want to develop their music and drama in this way.
