Help us to keep our dogs dry!Kennel life can be pretty frustrating! Walks with a volunteer (even when it's raining - which is most of the time) or a gallop around the exercise field do alleviate the boredom, but the least one should be able to hope for afterwards is a cosy kennel to relax in which is warm and dry and has access to fresh air! Not so for all of our dogs! One of our kennel blocks is leaking badly... We need to replace the current Polycarbonate roof that covers the kennel block runs. You will see from the photos that the pitch of the current roof is insufficient, water sits on the polycarbonate sheets and wells up, bending them, then the water runs back under the felt overhang and drips through into the kennels. Water also finds its way in where the Polycarbonate sheets join one another especially if they are bowed from the weight of water. On a wet day, fresh air means a compulsory paddle and once your feet are wet, they stay wet! And life can be pretty miserable! We need to replace the current Polycarbonate section of the roof on this kennel block with a solid, roof of double felted construction and definitely with more of a pitch to it (water needs to run off not back) it's the least our dogs deserve. We estimate costs of £1350 including all materials and labour. We are appealing to supporters far and wide (and close to home of course) to help us right this wrong which is currently otherwise beyond our control! Please help us keep the Freshfields Liverpool dogs cosy and dry!
